School is in session or is coming up really soon. 🚌
Because of this I thought I would let you in on some backpack recommendations.
I use to love this time of year. My mom would take my siblings and I school shopping.
That meant new shoes, new clothes, and a fresh new start in the school year.
One thing we thought very little about was what to look for in a backpack. It was more based on fashion than function.
So, I thought I’d make a simple video for those interested in helpful tips about backpacks.
As a chiropractor, two of the most important backpack recommendations I recommend :
1) Keeping the weight of the back pack as light as possible. Ideally, the weight should be kept as low as 15% of your body weight.
2) Keep the weight as spread out as much as possible. In order to do this, chest, waist, and two shoulder straps are highly recommended. This will help to decrease all of the stress on the joints of the spine.
I know that many don’t consider what to look for in a backpack. It’s as common as people think about How To Use A Cellphone. But if you can consider even the small things, you will begin to see positive changes in yours and your family’s health.
I hope this helps in considering a backpack for you or your child. 👪
